Via Partenope
The road was built in the late nineteenth century as a promenade in front of the Castello dell'Ovo: actually it divided the sea from the village of Santa Lucia or Pallonetto Santa Lucia. This is a picturesque agglomeration of houses on Mount Echia where arose the first nucleus of Partenope, which then gave rise to Naples. There lived fishermen very loyal to the Bourbon kings of whom were neighbors.
The small village was the backdrop for many films such as "Yesterday, today and tomorrow" with Sofia Loren as smuggler of cigarettes... always pregnant.
Currently the road is one of the most elegant of Naples.
There are great and historic Hotel of Naples and it enters the Borgo Marinaro (that is the small island of Megaride where are the Castel dell'Ovo and many restaurants, the most Known of Naples.
